This is so not true. At least for our homeschool. My children learn to mastery. If they don’t master it today, we tuck it away and come back to it again later.

We’ve gone to museums with public school friends and the mom always comment on how my kids know so much more. Things public school has never taught their kids.

Homeschooling my grandson. He has ADHD & dyslexia. Reading is hard. His dad (anti hs) taught him how to spell cat & dog. (Memorize) I told my gs he can spell anything bc he knows the letter/sounds.

All I know is my daughter used to come home from school stressed out, overwhelmed, and overstimulated. Now she’s like a different kid who actually enjoys learning and is thriving beyond compare.

A child's opportunity to learn dosent matter home vs school. it all depends on the teacher. parents can be crappy teachers too. or the homeschool curriculum could be inadequate. that's why there is no real research to show that home school kids perform better in college than traditional schools. (unless are reading homeschool site studies).

As someone who works with homeschoolers this could not be further from the truth. I think the mistake this lady made in speaking was to imply the don't need to spend as much time learning as others...

Memorization is actually very important. It builds a foundation on which they can build later. I homeschool because I want my child to actually learn. All the other fluffy stuff is part of daily life.
