Labels and language give us the power of understanding and meaning-making (Brené Brown has some great research on this). As a neurodivergent extrovert, finding the right labels wasn’t limiting - it helped me find a sense of belonging and understand why I struggled to fit into a neuronormative world that tells us that being too talkative, too loud, or too passionate is a bad thing.

The fetishisation of labels is borne out of a desire to be the biggest victim/“most special” person in the room. I think this is how Gen z will be remembered.
