If you’re in NZ you can call up employment relations authority if your not sure about anything your dealing with like minimum wage, sick pay, annual leave accrual etc.

I went through an agency and it was the best decision in terms of pay as they always paid 10% above the certificate and whatever hours you did you got payed for as you should

It was fucked, I am 18 I worked for $7 a hour doing Solar did 12 hour days but they only payed me for 7, I was lucky to clesr abojt $200-250 every week after tax it was just fucked. I left after 3 weeks because they didn’t properly sign me on as a apprentice. Even tho they told me they did. They didn’t let me have any breaks either and they tried to get me to wire invertors on my own and would leave me on site by myself to “ figure it out “. Tried to get a apprenticeship transfer but coudknt coz I wasn’t registered. Now I’m struggling to find another apprenticeship I’m keen and willing but no one wants to put me on its fucked
