Digital doesn't work in a high radiation field, so since accident conditions assume high radiation, most of the safety related functions will remain analog. Good, proven tech.

I still wish I had analog controls in my car still. They were more reliable and if it broke it was a $5 replacement knob that popped back on. Analog I always prefer when reliability is a must
