It is a very good backstory for an immortal character to become so bored he goes insane in my opinion, because that would be the fate of any immortal person if one like this existed

Exactly, people took Burning Spice’s boredom at face value instead of realizing his boredom was a symptom of spending years witnessing the same unchanging cycles until he finally broke.

Except it was boredom. He grew bored of constantly seeing the same exact cycle over and over. Yes, the immortality caused him to lose his humanity, but that doesn’t change the fact that he got bored of everything else’s existence. There are plenty of other immortal cookies who have not had the same reaction as him, so it’s not really a good excuse.
