Didn't it say somewhere that if he took the time to heal the imperium would lose all warp functions? And he wouldn't be able to keep the warp at Bay, causing demons to flood in all over the Galaxy.

He's not healing because he's on the throne, not because of horus, while he is on the throne it demands wast ammount of psychic mght, so he's basically stuck in an eternal state of being a corpse.
