The “catch” was a drop. 2 players fighting for possession. The receiver pulls the ball away and the ground “traps” the ball between his hand and shoulder. The ground can’t assist in a catch

The refs work for the league. Goodell runs the show. Football is considered sports entertainment. It’s just like a regular TV show. As long as it’s not for gambling, Goodell can decide who wins.
