The amount of artists and creatives that Beyoncé just gave their first Grammy for a masterful body of work is incredible! Linda Martell just got her first Grammy because of CC!

I might be reaching, but it feels like hyper-individualism repackaged as artistic integrity. Viewing music as an inherently collaborative process disrupts the “self-made” myth

Why does nobody understand that if you sample someone else’s song you have to credit them as a song writer ??

The 50sec interlude Smoke hour I gave writing credits to Chuck Berry and Sister Rosetta Tharpe among 4 others since she used their music as samples there. People see 72 without knowing what it means

This is also the reason why many of the artists today don’t have long career. If they can’t work with other talents, their art will just fizzle out so fast. Beyoncé is very smart in bringing new blood

And the fact that she had 72 people working with her is the reason why her music didn’t all sound the same like Taylor and Billie who have the same sound every album… I’m just saying. Having a diverse environment in music allows for a new sound. Like when Travis Scott worked with Tame Impala and James Blake… absolute gold.
