You’re 100% right. People saying that are showing their lack of experience. Buying an unbroken is an experience but you can end up with a horse that doesn’t suit you at all.

For me, it's not about the riding side of things. It's about creating a bond from a young age, building up those good habits on the ground, knowing the background of the horse and being able to make everything a positive learning experience from the start x

I have a friend that constantly gets young horses for this reason and then ends up selling them because they don't end up being the horse she wanted.

Love this. While I often “want” to ride one of my favourites during a lesson I always appreciate when the coach has me ride a different horse, especially one that’s opposite of my riding style.
