Here are 2 Things I Like About Quiet Quitting And 1 Thing I Hate. I grew up in the grind it out era of corporate where you worked 24/7 for fear of basically being cancelled by your boss. So it would be normal for you to think I don’t understand “quiet quitting” - and while I may have more to learn, I want to share two things I like about quiet quitting and 1 thing I hate. Hi, I’m Mel - I’m an exec coach for pre-executives who want to be better leaders in their career. If that’s you - then make sure you give me a follow. OK… The first thing I like is people are setting boundaries around how many hours they’re willing to work - we’ve been telling people forever that they’re in charge of their work life balance…and now they’re ACTUALLY taking charge of it. Let’s face it, the people who work 60-80 hrs a week don’t always get ahead… quite often they burn out. The second thing I like about quiet quitting is people are owning their time during the day and becoming way more productive. No more going to non-mandatory meetings just to be seen. No more saying yes to everything just because, or doing things “right away” even though it could wait until tomorrow. And the one thing I hate about quiet quitting is that it’s called quiet quitting. It makes it sound like in order to set boundaries and own your time, you have to be apathetic about your job. You can love your job and be passionate about it and STILL set boundaries and own your time… it’s not mutually exclusive. Instead of quiet quitting, I’d call it leading your time. One final thought, I’m a fan of corporate and I think there are a lot of benefits of working in corporate. But let’s face it, corporations can’t be trusted with your work life balance. That’s yours to own and I love that people are taking ownership of it. #leaders#leadershiptoks#leadershipd#bealeaders#leadershipskillsi#executivecoacha#corporatelifes#successincorporateu#quietquittingfebalance
