5 gallon minimum but bigger is always better. get a 10 gallon ACRYLIC tank and take the plastic plants OUT they will shred his fins. i like the leaf hammock tho.

People will say 5 gallon at minimum but id say 10-15 at minimum. And I’ve heard mirrors stresses them out, idk if that is correct.

Hey this is a great start, but bettas need a minimum of 5 gallons. Get some live plants like Java fern and Anubias. They don’t have to be planted they can just be attached to your decor or driftwood

Great job! I'm new to this too but I have added Indian almond leaves or Mopani wood and it releases tannins that are great for stress relief. It does make the water orange, but it mimics natural

Get a live plant from petco or petsmart such as an Anubias or Java fern. Dont do the mirror too much it stresses betas out because they think it is another male that they are seeing so they flare. If possible I would use a 5 gal tank at least. Make sure you use water conditioner to dechlorinate the water every time you add new water. Never do a 100% water change and don’t take the fish out all you have to do is dip the water out and replace with dechlorinated water. To clean the tank glass just use a magnetic scrubber you can get it on Amazon or at the pet store. Also, Tannins are AMAZING for bettas you can put an Indian almond leaf (catappa) at the top of the water it will release tannins which help heal and destress and also provides a good places for them to create bubble nests. Hope this helps :)

Honestly you’re doing a great job as a first time keeper! Only thing I would do is maybe try and upgrade to a 5 gallon but if not it’s not a huge problem! As going for your water change situation

Bettas love to hide. I’d recommend getting a cave or something he can hide in and some gravel. Bettas are usually supposed to be in 5-10 gallon tanks but some prefer smaller! 1

Only leave the miror there max 5 minutes. Also the directions for the water conditioner should be on the bottle, you need more than a drop. Ideally you need a 10 gallon but a minimum of a 5!
