Yakuza Was Trafficking Nuclear Materials?! #usa #japan Japan’s Yakuza trafficked nuclear materials?! The U.S. has charged a Japanese Yakuza leader with conspiracy to traffic uranium and weapons grade plutonium. The leader tried to sell it to an undercover DEA agent and a guy posing as an Iranian General. The general told him that he wanted the materials for a nuclear weapons program. The Yakuza leader offered him Plutonium because it was “better and more powerful” than Uranium. The leader also tried to sell them surface to air missiles, fissile material, guns, and bullets. US labs have tested the materials and they were real. So where did this guy get nuclear material? He claims that the Yakuza have uranium mines in Myanmar. As for the weapons grade plutonium? It’s unclear currently. Maybe there’s a rogue nation out there that has been selling it undetected but the more likely answer is the USSR. It was so poor at the end, that when it fell as hard as it did - None of the new countries had records on the nuclear material, so they lost track of them and this black market formed. There was enough material to build 81,000 nuclear weapons and despite exhaustive efforts by the Americans, Russians, and United Nations to get all of it - some still remains out there being smuggled. The men also face charges for trafficking narcotics, but that’s the least of their worries now.
i would still call this very successful 😁
