I smoke 2-3 tri tips a week. 45 min total to 135-140 internal for perfect medium rare. Also have smoked it to 110 then grill it on 500° grill to 125-130°. This is not a cut to be well done ever!

It is fun to try it at least once but Tri tip is better reverse seared method to a medium rare… 😁

When cooked medium rare and reverse seared it’s outstanding but doing it to 202 or so is meh

I just seared it and put it in the oven last night omg it was sooo good & tender I didn’t expect that my first time having tri tip I was confused on how to cook it😂
