I work at a vet and will forever keep my cat indoors their lives are cut much shorter unless you live in a really safe neighborhood that doesn't have coyotes

The only outside my cats are allowed is the backyard, and there's coyote rollers on the fence to keep them in and the coyotes out. Can't risk this happening!

The comments about keeping cats inside blow my mind, here in NZ, it’s not normal to keep your cats locked inside. Here they go and do what they please. Mine always comes back every day for a feed and snugs. But prefers to be lazing outside in the sun.
