KNEE VARIATIONS: For each technique, there are always different ways of how to do them, remember fighting is circumstantial and you must adapt to the situation at hand. Here are four alternative ways to deliver the holding knee.⁣ ⁣ STEP FORWARD KNEE: This knee is used when you’re psychically stronger than your opponent and you want impose yourself by pushing them back. Marching them back really allows you to deliver some heavy knees⁣ ⁣ SPRING BACK KNEE: This is when you’re clinching with a person who is stronger than you or you’re in a position where you can’t push them back (such as them being against the ropes). You spring back to give yourself room to knee. As you land from the spring back you use this as the step knee. ⁣ ⁣ JUMP FORWARD KNEE: This is used when your opponent is in a weak position like if you’ve pushed them back and they’ve stumbled a bit...or if you’re just that superior in the clinch and you’re sure they won’t throw you. You use the jump to generate more power in the knee. The skip is used as the step which enables you to jump up to knee. ⁣ ⁣ SKIP KNEE: Again this knee is used when you can’t move your opponent back and you want to use quick repetitive knees. The foot work is similar to the old dance more The Running Man. As you drop your leg after the first knee you skip the other one back which then puts it in to a good position to attack again. The drop down from the first knee is used as the step for the second knee.⁣ ⁣ HACK KNEE: This knee can be used effectively by both short and tall fighters. For the shorter fighter, you want to be in close where it’s difficult for your taller opponent to knee. From here you’d raise your leg up straight (you don’t step back for this knee as you don’t want to create room for your opponent) and hack down in to your opponents stomach. For the taller fighter, you can keep your shorter opponent by holding him at arms length which will leave them vulnerable to your long knees. You can either knee normal or you can hack down with this style knee. ⁣ ⁣ (You May know the knees under a different name) ⁣ #muaythai #muaykao #thaiboxing #mma #martialarts #techniquevariations
