when you train him not to jump on people even when he’s excited! My sister has 3 and they are all so well behaved. He used to be crazy just like yours but slowly he got better

this is simply him just wanting to play & being comfortable with you which last through any age & any dog. specific things can be trained such as not jumping or ques when it’s time to play or rest.

i have a pitbull, i’ve have him since I was 6 years old. He is 12 now, and they don’t calm down, he now has 3 legs and to say the least he has a lot of health problems, and he has calmed down. Just not in the way I wanted him too. he is like a brother to me and I couldn’t imagine life without him but trust me they don’t really calm down. He was always a happy and excited boy, I miss that side of him so don’t take this for granted please I would give anything to have my puppy jumping up on me like that again. You never want them to calm down :(

3-4 they start sleeping more, but teach him boundaries and basic commands/communication so he knows to chill out sometimes

dogs r a lifetime commitment, mine got more energetic past puppyhood. maybe put time in2 enrichment activities/walks, find some dog sports classes 2 channel his energy & teach him 2 place & settle
