I see some cars come in at 5k miles with nasty oil and others can go 8k+ and the oil is still fine. Since I own my own shop I just use my best judgement with each car

5000 miles 500 hours whichever comes first, gotta watch the hours especially any commercial vehicles…employees love to just idle all day no miles more hours still a running engine.

Any thoughts about oil analysis? I have started sending my oil off at different intervals to hopefully measure the level of wear and the remaining additives so I can make more informed decisions.
