as a self employed tradie I did my years to get where I'm at,one thing I'd say is it's hard to make the jump from being stuck in the 9/5 dynamic most people don't have the guts to make that hard move

Tradies should make heaps more. I can’t imagine working ungodly hours, working in the sun, in the rain, in the next town over and still either struggle or can’t afford to have a day out

Anyone can start a business, you can too. Keeping the business is the hard part, that’s the unseen grind.

I understand this on so many different levels. My dad was a worker majority of his life, even helped businesses get off the ground but the bosses didn't wanna pay him what he was worth and let him go. Some of them spent all their money, came into alot of debt and then gapped it over seas leaving him unknown and oblivious to the situation. I myself have been told by colleagues that I could be in managerial roles however my managers didn't want me to have that type of position then made other people's problem my problem so I ended up leaving cause I felt unappreciated.

"Hard work" does not mean working long hours and physically hard. The goal is always to aim for the bosses job and be the man who calls the shots. Many of our Maori have achieved that!!!

And it doesn't matter how hard you work. People will ALWAYS find a way to make it look like you are lazy or not working hard enough. Like hard work is a flex, which benefits who?

Working smarter not harder helps as well. Need to take steps outside of your comfort zone for progression.

That’s because the boss puts in all the work, all the investment, sets up the company, grounded to get there. Why would you make the same for just turning up and following instructions.
