When I look back at NASA’s human computers—trailblazers like Katherine Johnson and Dorothy Vaughan—I see a powerful lesson. They weren’t rendered obsolete when digital technology emerged; instead, they adapted, upskilled, and took on higher-level, strategic roles. Their evolution shows that when technology automates the mundane, it actually elevates our uniquely human strengths. In my own career, I’ve witnessed roles shift dramatically. Titles I once held, like E-Commerce Manager and Conversion Optimization Manager, have faded away as automation redefined what those jobs really entail. This isn’t a sign of doom—it’s a signal to focus on what only we can do: be creative, think strategically, and bring empathy to the table.
