@japanlikealocal: If you’re unfamiliar with onsen etiquette here are some pointers on what to do / prepare, for an optimal onsen experience ♨️😇 Make sure to check out our guide linked in bio for more cultural advice + Japan trips 🙌🏼 Important notes: We had permission to bring our phones inside for the purpose of an authorized shoot for the hotel. Please do NOT bring your phones inside the onsen, you’ll have to leave it in the locker 🔑 If you have tattoos, no matter the size, make sure to check if the onsen you’re going to is tattoo-friendly. Otherwise, you’ll be denied entry 🙅🏻‍♂️ You can take the small towel inside the onsen area, but please do NOT put the towel inside the water. You can wet the towel and leave it on your head to keep your head fresh, or keep the towel dry in order to pat the excess water right before exiting.
