I get hourly plus commission and revenue bonuses every 2 weeks my hourly is like $70 hr or more depending on how well I did my job. Never work for hourly or piece rate alone! You will struggle.

Pay based on performance can be rigged against you by your employer pretty easily. Sometimes the same exact job in two circumstances are ENTIRELY different. You have stability with hourly pay.

True, but remember, many don't have soft skills to sell consistently, low customer base, not ideal weather, rode both boats, both are good, but performance pay takes skill that most 1-3yr techs need

I mean kinda fair but if ur just starting out companies like that are kinda the best… your forced to learn it all pretty fast so you can become a tech and become worth more to the company then

All unions still get paid hourly including their benefits packages most are $125+ hr with 20yr vets having over 1mil in their 401k w/ lifetime benefits.

I did residential install for piece rate in 2003. Full installs were great but all the busy work never added up. All falls back on good salesman.

Best thing is good hourly pay and some money per install and commission if you sale a install or even just sell a coil get a little commission out of it
