This patented invention from 1963 was designed to help women give birth easily: First, the pregnant woman is strapped onto the table, lying on her back. They noticed the elephant moved in a circular, almost spinning motion before delivering its calf. This behavior intrigued them and sparked the idea that centrifugal force could assist childbirth.
