A U.S. president can unilaterally withdraw from any international agreement they oppose, Trump recently pulled out from the UN Human Rights Council. At this rate, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Trump pull the U.S. out of the UN entirely. Take Gaza as an example—America has played the central role in the immense suffering of its people, yet it claims to hold the key to their well-being through its plans for the region. After enabling the destruction of Gaza with American-supplied weapons, reducing it to rubble, Trump now discusses how its people should live there, as if he genuinely seeks their prosperity—while simultaneously supporting policies aimed at their displacement.
