I don’t think it’s regional, I mean I’ve lived in NE my entire life and also only heard of it on TV. probably more of an urban vs rural thing

I live in Alabama and we have validated parking. Hospitals/businesses with parking decks mostly.

It's only regional in the sense of areas with paid parking lots/garages vs. areas where parking is free. In my city there's lots paid lots but maybe 1-2 with validation

As a southerner who lives in a big city, we certainly have validation. In smaller cities, it’s not as much of a thing

I think it’s more of a population density thing than a regional thing! 🙂 grew up in a small town with 1 parking garage and didn’t know what it was, moved to city and it’s everywhere!!

One place that ever validated parking was a macy’s in the city and it’s so uncommon in the West Coast that they just wrote out the process and rules for the parking garage instead of saying they validate parking.

That’s crazy to me as an Atlanta native I used to have to get my parking ticket validated at the hair dresser, doctor, movie theater, & restaurants.

In Texas they validate, yes on stamping but scanning QR codes is becoming more common too.

As a southerner (Atlanta) I’ve definitely heard of parking validation but I have very rarely ever seen it anywhere around here. I’ve seen it in other larger cities though
