@ken: Apple is now IBM, Google is becoming Boeing, and Steve Jobs tried to warn everyone in 1995. If you’ve never seen this interview before, it’s about why Xerox failed when it should have become what Apple become. Ironic that his own company fell into this trap but I think it happens to every business that sells out for shareholders. #stevejobs #apple #ibm #google #Tech #monopoly
Apple Vision Pro is incredibly innovative. Unaffordable, but miles ahead in innovation.

I’m in healthcare. It’s the same thing. Medicine being run by people who don’t understand medicine. Only numbers.

Innovation in tech is gone, nothing is new. They keep telling us AI is the next big thing, but it’s not going to be what they claim it is. Welcome to the rot economy!

Nah fam AirPods were innovations. They were the first headphones that were truly wireless. Vision Pro came last year was a true innovation.

Jobs was the rare breed of valuing technology and design. I wouldn’t trust most engineers to be able create something worth spending money on.

I would say their SoC in house chips that run their laptops are a very nice innovation. But it definitely isn’t enough

Having worked in corporate marketing I’ve seen this across all industries. Innovation is suffocated in favor of predictability, sales, and marketing.

The only innovation Apple had was making computing a little more user friendly and maybe building a cool all in one PC. Also thanks for reminding me I'm old I remember watching that back then 😅

Like with Apple Vision Pro; it tries too hard to differentiate itself from other VR/AR headsets without actually innovating, so developers are better off coding apps for Meta Quest

Phones are like cars now. New car models are released every yr but doesn’t mean you have to buy it. Same thing now with phones. Especially with the price of the phone.

But isn’t that basically what all companies are doing now? Just pushing for profits but not really doing anything else?

Same with the language industry, the largest players are run by people who aren’t linguists of any stripe (and are often monolingual).

I remember the era when there was competition amongst cell phone manufacturers. There were three or four big players and their innovation was always exciting. Sadly, that’s pretty much gone now.
