well. that's why you buy at a discount (low) and sell at a premium (high). you win by selling at tails at the variance. I pay 0 in commission fees. if you can make money selling options, you can make

Sir what about a strangle at the money, closest expiry before earnings, 2 days before and sell before earnings. Iv juices up contracts reducing downside usually creating a no downside position

Mmm the caveat is they are priced correctly, on balance, at expiration. You are ignoring delta on timeframes not taking the option to expo. Zero days, sure a lotto ticket.

This is only true if you hold to expiration. Option sellers are much more interested in them expiring worthless than intraday volatility making them change in value.

Well yes you have to beat the Greeks. You don’t buy week of options unless you’re selling same day. If you’re swinging you should give yourself a later date to get in the $ to avoid the Greeks.
