The best onigiri I had during my trip came from a place in Tsukiji Market. I think they were about $1.70 USD each so not too bad. I enjoyed the market in Ueno as well, came upon it by accident.

always go to mom and Pop shops, in Kyoto there was this yam and smoothie truck and the smoothies were fresh amazing and like 600 yen

I went to Tsukiji 10 years ago and had at one sushi restaurant the best maguro nigiri in my life. And I lived in Japan at that time. However, I did hear that things changed a lot.
