@stefthatgirloutthere: That time I saved at least $20,000 remodeling my bathroom... We knew this bathroom would need to be completely renovated when we bought our house. We set aside about $5,000 to do so. Then we got a quote for $20,000 🤯. Ooops, we were not ready for that. So we applied for a community grant, just to see if we would qualify. It was a months long application process. We actually qualified though! 🎉 The process had some hiccups so we went a few weeks without a shower, and many, many more weeks with just a shower, no vanity or toilet or walls surrounding the shower. We had input on colors and a few vanity options, but a lot was out of our control and we were very nervous throughout the process.
