Finally, I see the real light created by God." -Anglerfish A certain members of the species occasionally ascend to the surface. An adult abyssal humpback anglerfish, or Melanocetus johnsonii, which is typically found at depths of 200 to 2,000 meters, was spotted close to the surface in what may be the first time the species has ever been sighted in broad daylight.  The anglerfish barely lived for a few hours while exploring the day light and looked to be in poor health. The group claims that the fish is a "black seadevil" with the scientific name Melanocetus johnsonii.
