i just add glue over the magnet resume printing... but ithink your method got better result

or you could just attach the magnet to the build plate while printing then slot it in while it's still warm. (put painters tape on the up side to help with adhesion)

Why not just set your magnet on the heated bed while you wait… then it wont be cold when it’s time to add it

What slicer are you using that you can add a pause so easy. I have tried adding magnets and as soon as my print head goes over it the magnet jumps to the print head.
