Kids not being disciplined properly today IMHO is the root of many of our social problems. However, some parents used to take it too far, so I guess we’re now paying the price.

This. A smack on the bum is NOT physical assault. It’s discipline. It’s extremely easy to determine if something is assault or discipline.

I don't classify a slap round the back of the legs as physical assault. If I got a slap then I deserved it. ask yourself why the kids are like they are. no respect to adults, police, elderly etc

The more I think about hitting children as a means of punishment the more I hate it. Fear isn’t respect. Children are people, not punch bags to vent your anger.

Respect from kids went when they took the cane - Slipper - Strap out of schools. They do and say what they want now. If you got any of the above mentioned like he says you Fckin behaved. 😂

My dad probably hit me at most about 6-8 times. In hindsight i deserved every single 1 of them hits and i definitely deserved more. His threat of “clip over the ear” was enough to pull me into line.

Smacked my kids on the hand (never hard) wasn’t often my facial expression was enough for them to stop tbf ,as adults they do not remember it , because like I say it wasn’t a regular accurate.
