@bumblingbaggins: Our first major project as new homeowners? Mending this rotten, old fence. In the few days between signing paperwork and getting our keys, a storm passed through town and knocked down fences along our property line, right into the neighbor’s yard. With more winter storms heading our way and our very limited budget, we decided to do a bit of a bandage repair to get things stabilized and buy us some time before we can do a full replacement later in the year when the sun comes back and the soil warms up a bit. Long braces were hammered into the ground and bolted onto the base of each wobbly fence post. We used small boards and a bit of metal hardware to reinforce the panels to each post. It doesn’t need to be pretty - it just needs to hold on a few more months until we’re able to take on a bigger project and do things properly. #newhomeowners #homerepair #fencework #goodenough #stormdamage
