@niky.mamamd: You are much better off just saying “yes” immediately than saying “no” ten times and then giving in. So on those hard days, give yourself some grace, and say “yes” to the little things. And when it is time to say no, follow through every time. This will set you up for less battles in the future! #parenting #parentingtips #consciousparenting #gentleparenting #pediatrician #momof3 #toddlerparents
“Yes we can definitely do that! But I need you to help me clean up blocks first.” 🪄MAGIC🪄

I’ve never heard it put quite this way but I think it’s what I’m already doing. If it’s not a hill I’m prepared to die on and it’s not going to harm them or others then I will give in.

Perhaps say no when you mean no and don’t give mixed messages

Only works for certain parenting styles. Growing up yes meant no meant no and repeated asking got you punishment. If there was a possibility of an no for now but a yes later, that was communicated by saying not right now. But will also say you can’t raise all kids the same, what works for family may not work for others, on that same note what works for one child may not works the the sibling.

yes, kids will learn if they are asking enough, you’ll give in. this is good advice. but i bet if the boomers heard this they’d disagree, they seem to want kids to have a 💩 life like they did 🙄

This is so true! I’m struggling so hard today and I started the day saying no until i decided today she gets to do what she wants because I need to survive. And it got waaaay easier. Just for today 🥰
