I take Sertraline and definitely have feelings! I feel like everyone has a med that just kinda numbs them. Might be a dosage issue, might be just getting used to it, took me about 1 1/2 months

Hi babe... it takes about a month for things to take effect... I have been on these most of my life until I started my transition 9 months ago🙂 The continued use of anti depressants and HRT = Newlife

setraline never worked for me, I'm on duloxetin and wellbutrin now and feel much better on em. but yea they only make you not sad, they don't add happiness

def talk with your doctor about it. my partner is on it and it does just help them. also for the other people saying "it doesn't" also talk to your doctor, you might be on the wrong med hahah

if it's making you feel emotionally numb then it's a side effect and you should consider trying a different SSRI - also I was feeling awful for like a month but it does pass 😭

Yeaaaaah, it's more of a deadening. I worked my dosage down with my psychiatrist to a manageable level so I can still feel stuff.

3-4 weeks is the usual time to get to dosage where it should work. If it doesn't, your doctor should bring it back down and try another one. Sorry, I know the waiting game isn't fun.

I was on this and it had a similar effect so I stopped. I think this is common and may or may not change as time goes on.

2 months in and I have started to appreciate things again and have normal emotions , the numbness is only there if you let it consume you

generally takes like a month for most antidepressants to start working. you may need adjustment on dosage at some point. idk about feeling joy.

talk to your psych and let them know. they can adjust meds from your feedback. this is so important and a lot of people just don't so this.
