thankfully our 105 year old farmhouse only gets cold when the wind is out of the north south east west and everything in between

When I re modeled our old farmhouse we put radiant floor heating in the whole thing. Never regretted spending all that money on it one bit!!!

Every farmhouse sucks. Ours is always cold somewhere just depends on which way the wind is blowing. Newish windows mostly been gutted and insulated and it’s still cold and drafty

dad told me "no matter how much time and money you spend on an old farm house, you still have an old farm house". he wishes he would have burnt down his house 50 years ago. lol

My aunt and uncle’s was built in the 20’s. You could see your breath sleeping upstairs in the winter. Had to keep all doors closed and we only sat in the kitchen because the stove kept it warm.

💯 !!! They have no clue. Mine is from 1910-12. Parents remodeled in the late 70’s. I think it would be cheaper to build a new house , maybe 🤔!!!

1888 farmhouse here bud. I heat with a forced air corn furnace so i can afford to heat it. Before the corn furnace it was fuel oil….rediculous fuel bills.

Best thing I did in my old house is a smart thermostat with sensors in every room. Averages the temps together and keeps it all within 4 degrees. With some strategic vent adjustments.

I should take more videos of our farmhouse decor, one day my baseboard heat pipe froze, I don't think it was flowing right, next day it thawed with another new leak 😎
