It sounds bad but condition your scalp very lightly and blow dry your hair. Dry shampoo makes it 100x worse.

If you’re Asian: Head and Shoulders. I’m Chinese and my hair literally looked like that a few months ago. Bam fixed in a few washes

NOTHING worked for me until I started using Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo. I also leave it on my scalp for like 5 mins too.

*just commenting this twice because I think it’s helpful* Nizoral shampoo, blow dry your scalp with cold air once you get out of the shower, you don’t have to dry it all just blow out any leftover flakes :) also drying your roots will prevent buildup from moisture, it’s important to keep scalp away from moisture for too long because it will cause yeast to build faster which creates flakes :) I have seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp and the shampoo i recommend has a medical acid that dose wonders for flakes/dryness/itchiness. Hope this helps !! If the issue doesn’t go away I’d suggest a trip to the dermatologist which you’ll most likely get digangosed with seborrheic dermatitis (it’s common, often misconstrued with dandruff) or scalp psoriasis, and they will just prescribe you with a medicated shampoo that is basically nizoral shampoo but with a higher acid percentage!

This is what has helped me. Nizoral shampoo once every 1-2 weeks, brushing hair before shower, blow drying the roots after shower, not letting hair get too oily between washes, no dry shampoo

Double shampoo and not leaving my hair wet wrapped up in a towel/tshirt for too long. Making sure the hair near the scalp is dry before I start blow drying or air drying the ends!
