Fifteen months later, in May 1979, Kubacki mysteriously reappeared—700 miles away in Massachusetts. He had no memory of the past year, was wearing different clothes, and carried a bag filled with maps. He claimed to have no idea where he had been or how he got there. Shockingly, he never sought medical help or further investigation. He later refused interviews and moved on with his life, leaving the mystery unsolved.
