✨AFFORDABLE FAMILY-OWNED CARIBBEAN FOOD FROM A JAMES BEARD NOMINATED CHEF✨ Bridgetown Roti went from pandemic pop-up to award winning East Hollywood neighborhood spot, and it’s a must try for affordable food in Los Angeles. Founded by chef Rashida Jones after she realized nowhere in LA was selling the West Indian food she grew up with, this family-owned, black-owned, woman-owned, and queer-owned (wow!) Caribbean-American spot definitely lives up to the hype and accolades. Here are my must orders: 🌯 Red Pepper Goat Roti Wrap ($18): So flavorful, so juicy, so comforting. Loved the texture contrast between the tender goat and crispy slaw and potatoes. 🥟 Oxtail & Peppers Patty ($8): A classic, made even better thanks to the fresh housemade ingredients and flaky crust. Best enjoyed with one (or all) of their hot sauces. 🍗 Honey Jerk Whole Wings ($16): Sweet, spicy, and HUGE. Eating these begs the question — are these the best wings in LA? And they really might be! 🧀 Macaroni & Cheese Pie ($5): I loved the sharp cheesy flavor, and the curry spices took it to another level. 🌮 Curry Channa Doubles ($12): Warm curry flavors and spices in a satisfyingly chewy puffy bread. I’ve never had chickpeas this good! 🥤 Coco Limeade: This creamy, tangy, and refreshing drink was the perfect accompaniment to all the spices in the food. Bridgetown Roti is open from 11:30am-8pm from Sunday-Thursday and until 9pm on Friday and Saturday. They’re a casual counter service spot, and also offer takeout and delivery. Plus, nothing on the menu is over $20!
