nah I call and get an an out the door price. if they ask if I'm financing it I say yes but not sure who through yet. I need the price to know how much to finance. Not wasting my time going in. I also let them know I'm looking elsewhere and debating on where to go. Got my 23 Tundra SR5 brand new with rims for 48k out the door.

what I learned is most salespeople aren't really trying to scam, customers just dont understand how finances work but they blame the salesperson for their lack of knowledge

Quite literally had customers come in with high 800credit scores believing that they could purchase a 50k car and be 600 a month with no money down….

The reason I only ask for out the door price is because I’m already financing the vehicle through a credit union and there is rarely any dealership that can beat their rates.

on a 60 month loan, every $10k is roughly $200 on your car payment.

I don't understand how people walk into a dealership without an idea already of what they want their payments at and what price point gets them there

If you can’t only afford $1k a month max then you shouldn’t buy a $116k vehicle

The REAL “secret sauce” if you’re going to finance is, get your own finance with your credit union or bank.. Don’t finance through the dealership or let them pull your credit. That’s when you negotiate “out the door price”.

I'll do you one better . My Exe husband and I used to own a dealership. Always say you are paying cash untill the firm numbers on car and trade in is in writing. Then tell them you decided to go with
