My dad was on prednisone for lung issues & every time the dose changed, the bad side effects would start again. Even if it was lowered. I assume it’s the same for dogs 🥺

Oh my gosh, my dog is on a similar medication right now and she is acting insane. Super hyperactive and cannot sleep or rest… She normally naps, but can’t anymore.

I’ve definitely been there. My first dog as an adult was so accident prone. I would have constant breakdowns. It definitely gets better! To the point I got another 😍😂

I bawled this morning bc Lux is sick and I've been advocating for 2 weeks to get his medicine changed bc it wasn't working. They just switched him to prednisone this afternoon, wish me luck .

I feel this so hard. I put my rescue dog through heartworm treatment and it was two months of bedrest while on prednisone. It was brutal to say the least. He’s also a German shepherd so high energy!

Same thing happened to my girl when she was on that steroid. I legit celebrated the last day of giving her those pills. Hope to never have to give it to her again

Our pitbull is on day 5 of prednisone after throwing up for a month, has a inflamed intestine, today she is very off drooling like crazy won’t eat and shaking,vet said it’s normal but seems so wrong

Idk if this help but in humans prednisone can cause high blood sugar which can cause extreme thirst and excessive urination so maybe it’s the same for dogs! It’s one of the main side effects

omg i WISH someone told us about the prednisone side effects. our vet gave it to us after our lab/pit had an allergic reaction, and it was literally the worst.
