The fact that people are like this is frightening.

I heard someone explain it, it's like ur brain being triggered into fight or flight and so your brain shuts down that part that's letting you be vulnerable to protect yourself, that's why

it's not intentional but they hurt other ppl so bad that they struggle in their next relationship and future relationships.

If you're secure you'll be able to communicate & give space to an avoidant

it’s not personal, but it’s hard to not take it that way if they don’t communicate what’s actually happened or going on 😭

it's just less painful to leave than to feel inadequate and overwhelmed around someone else, I care about you and I feel guilty, but I'm just in so much pain

I won't take it personal but if there is no communication, and no working on the avoidant part, it ends there for me xx

Have a friend who is and deals with anxiety, I told her once after one of her reclusive periods. “I’m not going to chase you because that’ll make it worse. I’m not running away. But I’ll always wait”

This is so timely.. The silence, the distancing, after being sweet and showing care. Then the being left unread, not responding..

We were moving in together for March. We’re signing the paperwork last week (now nulled) and then she broke up with me Monday. We had a disagreement last Thursday and that must have been the switch?

I pray I never come across another avoidant ever again. He ruined me all over again after dealing with a narcissist for 4 years. Similar traits too. Just can’t believe he turned out to be so cold.

It seems like ppl who suffer from BPD have an avoidant attachment style. There’s always sum kind of correlation between the 2. Is it normal for a person with BPD to have that type of attachment style

I agree. It’s like an impenetrable wall that you can’t even take down yourself, you just have to wait for it to take itself down, by walking away.
