@tedtoks: ICYMI: Last week, head of TED Chris Anderson announced that after 25 years, he’s passing on the stewardship of TED to someone new. And it could be anyone! In this dispatch from the TED Theater in NYC, he shares the key factors behind his decision — including the recent surge of fear and division in media — and how TED’s next chapter could offer renewed pathways for connection. Visit the 🔗 in ☣️ to watch his full remarks, plus in-depth conversation with TED CEO Jay Herratti and executive director of The Audacious Project Anna Verghese. #TEDTalks #TEDTalk #TEDx #Future
TED is great but it’s time to introduce TEDh : TED from home. Presentations about a singular topic by people from remote places in the world, or even big urban areas (e.g., China) but by people who otherwise wouldn’t know how to get approved to do a TED, but whose insights into a singular topic would be of interest or great value to hundreds of thousands (or even millions). Just a thought - the technology is diversified enough now that certain technical guidelines can be be mandated quite affordably for the presenters (the podcast revolution certainly helped). It’s time to reclaim that space before other platforms slide you into oblivion.

The irony isn’t lost on me that he uses fear about the state of the world to promote TED ☺️But nonetheless, I agree 😅🧡
