Uruk comes from the Sumerian word Unug which means site or location. It’s a phonetic alteration of the Akkadian word Uru which means city. In the Bible it’s Erek which means lengthy (rivers)

Galgamesh it's Sumerian methologhy same as Kurdish language means great buffalo. Gel-kel means great, gamesh in Kurdish is buffalo. Kurds term is Sumerian for kur - mountain.
