@crimesyndicatee: On April 13, 1977, the remains of an unidentified man, later nicknamed “Septic Tank Sam,” were found inside an abandoned septic tank on a farm near Tofield, Alberta, Canada. The victim had been bound, assaulted, and severely injured before being placed in the tank. The case was particularly disturbing due to the level of violence involved. Investigators determined that the man had likely been killed months before being discovered. Due to decomposition and the corrosive nature of the septic tank, identifying him proved nearly impossible. Authorities released facial reconstructions and estimated that Sam was between 20 and 40 years old, around 5’6” tall, and had suffered from arthritis. For decades, his identity and the circumstances of his death remained unknown. However, in 2021, advancements in genetic genealogy and forensic DNA testing finally led to his identification as Gordon Edwin Sanderson, a 25-year-old Indigenous man from Alberta. His family had lost contact with him in the 1970s, never knowing what had happened. #truecrime #crime #truecrimestory #fyp #breakingnews #spreadawareness
