Public lands have been a source of healing and joy for me for years—but right now, they’re under attack. Protections for national monuments and public lands are at risk, and we can’t afford to stay silent. Here are three ways you can take action right now: - Support organizations fighting for public lands. Groups like Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, Center for Western Priorities, and Leave No Trace are doing the work. Donate, volunteer, or spread their message. - Contact your elected representatives. Public lands are for all of us. Let them know you want stronger protections, not rollbacks. - Get outside and use them. Politicians are less likely to justify stripping protections when people are actively enjoying these spaces. Visit, explore, and share why these places matter. Now is the time to act. If you have other ways to protect public lands, share them in the comments. Let’s make sure these places remain for future generations. 📍 Gold Nugget Wayside outside of Gold Hill, OR This place is in the ancestral lands of the Takelma, Cow Creek Umpqua, and Tolowa Dee-ni’ people & possibly others.
