Had 3 great-great-great aunts (ages 12, 9, and 7) die in the Children’s Blizzard in southeast South Dakota! The whole story is written in the family tree… so tragic.

Laura Ingalls described an October blizzard and a 3 days blizzard in the book The Long Winter but I think it was different than this. Such hard living though!

Separate from this blizzard, the Little House book "The Long Winter" is about 1881 when they had so many blizzards in S Dakota the wholetown almost starved to death. Tough place to live then, and now
