I think we need to recognize not everyone can get a well bred, fab 4 breed. To be mean for what a disabled person has available is ablist. If you get an off breed sd just for kicks, that's different

Collies are herders and part of the fab 4. But also real, if you’re going to actively seek out a service dog (as opposed to training a pet dog to do service tasks), go for SD lines/breeds

agreed, yes i have a unique breed for sd work and it was difficult but worked out. But you shouldnt get a dog for looks and not research or look at the possible prones like a pitbull is prone (1

When I was first in the process of getting a service dog. I wasn’t as educated and although I would not recommend having a rottie as an sd she fits my needs perfectly with bipolar induced psychosis.
