The Ultimate Hybrid Build 📸/🎥 Here’s my latest setup for the A7V / A7IV for photo & video projects. I recently acquired the Sony 28-70 f/2.0 GM and it’s been an amazing partner to my A7 cameras. I was lucky enough to use this lens when it first came out, and ever since sending it back to Sony (it was on loan), I’ve wanted a copy of my own. One of the inconveniences that comes with this lens, however, is the 86mm filter thread, which is not very common. All of my filters are 82mm since up to the point of getting this 28-70, that was my largest front thread size. Instead of buying a new filter though, I tried a cheap 86 to 82mm step down ring (as per some comment suggestions on a past video). To my surprise, there isn't much noticeable vignetting when shooting video! This saved me lots of money lol. The Polar Pro PM VND II is still my favorite VND since the color shift, vignetting, and ‘x’ pattern is super minimal, however, I really like the slim profile and stackability of the Tiffen MCS system shown here - especially for hybrid projects (since I can quickly take filters on and off). 🔗 I have a parts list for this build in my bio link called “The Ultimate Hybrid Build 📸/🎥” - feel free to use it for inspiration on your own setup or copy it part-for-part.
