After salvation you are born again. You are made into a new creature. You are no longer a sinner. You are made righteous and holy through Jesus Christ. This is something I struggle to truly believe but if you still identify yourself as a sinner and focus on your sin instead of him you will struggle so much more with not sinning and the guilt and shame from sin will eat you from the inside. God said the old you is dead. God is not a liar.
