VLC is the best mainly because it can do anything. Videoplayer, screen recorder, playing any live from most platforms, recording lives, change from vertical to horizontal video in real time and more

I've tried running a 4K movie with MPC and it lagged and crashed, tried it on VLC and it ran smoothly

you are wrong. VLC is still the best all round video players. Personally I prefer mpv but VLC is feature rich and a great gui. it really is the best

I've never had a single issue with VLC.. I've been able to play files w crazy FRs not even AE plays, used post processing tools, etc. Just bc u found smth that works for you, doesn't make you superior
